Rain, Hail, Sleep.

So our tournament days are done... for this weekend anyway. Thursday was pretty good to us but because of snow for some of the mountain schools, game times and teams were changed. Unfortunately, one of the teams we had counted on winning was one of the teams that couldn't make it down. This moved our game time up to 5:00pm which was nice but now we were playing a Fresno team, that's not so nice. These were the teams, that when I played ball, we played in playoffs and in state and were always tough. About 1/2 way through, the rain and hail came, so we got a 15 minute break.

The most wonderful thing about that game, the umpire came up to Rader and I to comment on how the girls had guts to get in there and swing the bat the way they did. He said he could see they play with heart and that was really impressive. We took that as the biggest compliment we could ever get. The girls did make some contact, even got walked to first but they weren't prepared for a team like this, hell, neither were we. This team had a pitcher that could blow a lot of community college pitchers out of the water. Needless to say they also went on to win the tournament.

So with this 2nd loss handed to us, we're off today. Slept in, had some breakfast and now we're bored out of our minds. It only took about 2 hours but we can't just sit and relax anymore, it's really sad. So we're off to see a movie and then to the Keckley's to game... woohoo :)
